My first question is Can I register a domain through iPage and use blogger/blogspot to create the content? Looking forward for any answer. Another quick question... I have recently installed osCommerce and so far have concentrated on making the iPage site look how I want it, and learning how to use the various content management tools..

I now want to concentrate on making the whole thing work and some of the elements that are not working are the 'checkout' button, the 'log in' or 'create account' links. They have never worked but I've left them until last so I can concentrate on learning the other bits..

Can anybody please help?.

Many thanks.

Yep, but... you might wanna make sure and wait for someone else here to confirm my answer as I am not completely sure. Better yet, why don't you call the iPage guys because they can answer you better...

I don't get a 404. It's just a time out, page not found error..

The status bar seems to be pointing in the right place. E.g. for the check out button it points to mysite/php (dir of mysite where software installed)/checkout_shipping.php. This is the same for all the links that don't work. I wondered if it would something to do with that I've installed everything under the mysite/php directory rather than just at mysite..

It would probably easier if I just gave you the address which is appletoys.com/php/.

This brings up my homepage with various links. The log in and create account are on the first page. The checkout button obviously only appears when there's something in the cart..

Do you have SSL turned on? If so, do you have an SSL certificate installed?.

I'd wager that's the problem. Set the enable SSL to false in configure.php and I bet they work...

The SSL is enabled and I haven't got a certificate yet. For some reason this directory is protected so I'll only be able to access it when I get to my home PC, so I will try disabling it then..

I believe I receive free SSL certifcation through my web service provider so would it be an idea just to get the certificate now?.

Thanks for your advise..

If they give you a free shared certificate, then you just need to ask your host for the https url, and enter it into the https directory variable in your configure file, and it should work ok. Sometimes, however, there are additional complications with shared SSL certificates. Plus the URL will not be completely your own. You can get your own SSL for about $49 per year now, so it's not that expensive of an investment...

Thanks again for your advise. I've just spoken to my SP and they've said the set up is free, but I have to purchase a personal IP for about $3.50, and then a certificate for about $149..

Can you advise of other certificate providers that I could use to get a cheaper one?.

Also not sure if it makes a difference but I'm based in the UK..

When you click one of these links do you receive an error message, if so is it a 404 error..

When you mouse over to click one of these links what is shown in the status bar as being the links url..
