Surgery.

Which was now 11 days ago. I keep falling asleep and if I try to fight it my eyes go all funny and bam I'm asleep. I'm also still in pain from that bloody drain, I'm going to see my gp tomorrow but just wondered if anyone else lost the ability to stay awake..

Hmm... I need to find out myself. I don't know what is the right answer to your question. I'll do some research and get back to you if I discover an useful answer. You should email the people at Medifast as they probably could answer your Medifast question..

During the first couple of weeks I was always falling asleep it lasted about 3 weeks to maybe 4 weeks. As for pain I had an open incision that I had to pack and that was the only pain I had. It lasted for about 4 weeks but I ended up with an infection the day after I got released...

Also, are you still taking pain meds.........they can be the cause of it too...

Im at the doctors in the morning but I'm worried she is not going to be interested. also yes on pain killers but onkly over the counter ones. as I ran out of the ones the hospital gave me...

I was thinking it might be because I'm nt getting enough calories and liquids down. but how can I get them down when I'm constantly asleep lol..

Please listen to the guys here... Perish the thought anything is wrong, but it does need checking....

If the doctor wont help head straight for A&E. they have a duty of care if you turn up..

And have them realise why you did this... why you had to go away as the support here in the UK for you was not enough....

Please yake someone with you, someone who will make a stand and say enough is enough... I did with the wife and it actually works... Dont take no for an answer anymore you are entiltled to healthcare they have not offered....

Its important, we often just take the rubbish and meds and go away with our tail between our legs thinking why do I bother...

Low hemoblogin is a complication that can be easily and painlessly corrected if caught early enough. At least insist your hemoglobin be checked. It's not difficult or painful or time consuming..

If all you are taling is over the counter pain meds, that should not be causing extreme drowsiness. In fact "over the counter pain meds" are pretty much an oxymoron...
