First of all Does bride choose Medifast menu for reception before groom chooses Medifast menu for rehearsal dinne Thanks in advance for any comment. My other question... I am 3 weeks post op RNY tomorrow exactly and I have stayed at the same weight for almost 2 weeks now. Seems like I hit the notorious "plateau" but I haven't even really started losing weight yet! I suspect that I'm eating Medifast food that I'm not supposed to yet, but I honestly can't bear to eat another bite of pudding, jello, mashed potatoes, cream of wheat, grits, or cottage cheese. And there are seriously diminishing returns with the protein shakes and shots. I literally cannot choke them down anymore.

and sometimes it hurts but I go very slowly. I've also just started exercising by.

For 30 mins a day, but that's only been for the past few days. I feel like I'm not gonna lose the weight, and it's very discouraging. I've only lost 18 lbs so far...

Yup, although you might wanna make sure and wait for someone else to confirm my answer as I am not quite sure. Better yet, why don't you give a call to the Medifast guys because they can answer you better...

I'm 4 weeks out and have been at 25 lbs for days. I was at 27 lbs 2 weeks ago, so I've gained back 2. The thing is, you have to know if we keep exercizing and eating small, healthy meals, it has toi happen for us. I really think we're better off to lose slowly and give our skin a chance to keep up and hopefully shrink along with the rest of us. don't give up, and please don't eat noodles, they're such empty calories, and part of what got us in this shape to begin with. we can do this.....

This is normal although I can tell you first hand I know how you feel. I had RNY 1/25/10 and dropped 20 lbs in two weeks and sat there for a week. It's like is that it??? Then all of a sudden over the weekend I dropped another 4lbs..

We are in this for the long haul and can not get discourage with not losing fore a week or three:)..

Hey I am 1 week postop and I don't even want to get on a scale yet. I gained 11 pounds after.

And asked my dr. what the heck is up with that. she told me it was because of all the iv fluids but just do what I was told and the weight will come off. I didn't just do this for the weight. I did it for my Health and my grandchildren. so that I can have longer to spend with them and watch them grow.

And I know what you mean about the protein drinks having a hard time. but I keep telling myself to hang it there it will work out in the end. hang in there sweetie. we"ll do this together..

Thanks for all the encouraging replies. I'm really glad I joined this support group..I'll take all the advice and not worry about losing weight so much as healing my pouch. Thanks so much again!..

I am also 3 weeks post op. My sugar (diabetes Type 2)seems to still be with me. I can not tolerate those nasty protein drinks, puddings, etc. I feel like I was not prepared for this. I can fell ok but than just start.

I do not feel full when I eat cottage cheese or scrambled egg beaters. I eat sugar free ice pops, V8 juice, sugar free jello, broth, Healthy choice tomato soup, and split pea soup. What am I doing wrong> By the way, is anyone else have trouble with tastes and smells? Things are off and are very strong?..

Well yeah, commercial foods these days are loaded with sodium and sugar and since your body has in a way detoxified from this (did you notice your tongue felt "coated" for a few days after the.

? like ick mouth?) everything now will smell and taste way stronger than it used to. That's a really good thing, that means now you don't need as much salt or sweeteners to taste your Medifast food and you can eat lighter and actually enjoy the natural sweetness and flavors of your food. I think the feeling hungry thing may mostly be in your head. I still struggle with this myself, and it takes a while to re-train your mind to distinguish between real hunger and fake hunger. I think you should post a topic about this issue in the forum because I'm sure there are more experienced post-ops out there who can help you (and me too) with that...

I am 3 yrs post op and still don't feel hunger so it's all in my head basically. I can't tell you strongly enough not to eat noodles or pasta of any kind in the beginning. That type of stuff swells when it gets in your pouch and fills it fast but it can stretch it and make you sick and you don't want to be throwing up so early post op. You will have plateaus throughout this journey and they are very frustrating but changing your.

Or watching your carbs can really help. In the beginning really need to watch the carbs and get in your protein. The only drink I used was the Slim Fast high protein/low carb drink. Put in a blender with ice and drank that. Very filling. I never could do the other protein things.

Well cooked veggies are good and even salad is cause so much of it is water and drink as much water as you can but not before or after you eat. Would love to help in any way. You're doing great so don't worry...

Thanks for your responses. I just feel kind of alone right now and it is nice to know there are others out there that understand how I am feeling and what I am going through. I just can't wait till they add more foods to my diet. I am going to check to see if I can have the Slim Fast high protein/low carb drink. Maybe it will taste better than the chalky protein shakes that I have...
