Got a question... How come potato sandwich is not listed on the Medifast menu at the Royal Wedding? Hoping for any comment. 2nd question I got is.. Is there anyone out there that has had to have their GB done again. I am about to have it done for the third time. this time they are going to take my stomach out and make a new one from my small bowel..

So HELP has anyone had to have a new stomach made and what is different post op. I am frustrated that in 1994 I had GB for obesity, again in 2004 due to a pocket not emptying and now because my stomach is just not working, it is dumping and also blocking. I am scared but trying to hold it together for my family, they know I am scared but that is it. I have had some serious side affects although different with the othe 2...

Revisions are surprisingly common for folks who had their GBS.

3 or more years out. If you have a qualified bariatric surgeon who has good experience with revisions and what contributes to the need for them, I think you are going to be very happy with the results. A good place to find others to talk to is.

Bighotmama, was there some modification of RNYGB procedure 3 years ago? I'm not understanding why some people require these revisions. Any info on the rate of this obviously difficult complication?..

Jerry, revision is the generic term for any.

To correct problems with past GBS surgeries. There are all kinds of reasons it becomes necessary, including ulceration of the pouch and poor surgical technique in the original.

So sorry you are having to go through this, can you tell me what some of the symptoms are for the pocket not emptying and also the blocking? I have been having such terrible pains in my stomach for about 2 months, it comes and go now but when it's here it is like a knife cutting thru me. It happens even if I am not eating or drinking at the time...

I had gastric bypass in 2000. I started having really severe heartburn and stomach pains about 2 months ago. I went to a different bariatric surgeon since I don't live in the same state I got it done the 1st time and he told me not only had my pouch stretched out too big but the small instestine attached to my pouch also stretched out. This causes Medifast food to sit and not be digested causing heartburn and stomach pains. I wound up having to go to the ER with severe stomach pains and got admitted and had the revision a few days later...

I'd be interested in knowing if these were RNY surgeries, or something else. I know they were done differently with a much higher complication/failure rate not so long ago. I think that's important info to include in threads such as this. I'm suffering from the effects of an old fashioned.

, at least second hand. A neighbor is helping me pack/move and she farts uncontrollably. Sometimes she feels it coming and runs outside, sometimes not. Yesterday it was so bad I was gagging and then finally had to go throw up. Whatever.

She had, I want no part of lol..

I have never heard of this before but my thoughts and prayers are with you. Please take care of yourself and remain positive. It must be so frustrating..

Hopefully someone else had some.

Of this. Good luck and God bless you..
