After.

Reading.

Her.

Books.

On GBS and her success, I have to say I was surprised by how she looks..

To be honest..it's freaking me out a bit..to go through all of this and to get big again....

Any thoughts?..

I'm stumped. I'm not so sure what is the answer to your question. I'll do some research in Google and get back to you if I discover an useful answer. You should email the people at Medifast as they probably could answer your Medifast question..

My neighbor had.

Gastric bypass surgery.

Four years ago. She has not followed the suggested Medifast diet given to her by her nutritionist and has refused to.

Exercise.

She is currently back up to 356 lbsmore than she weighed before her.

Surgery.

There are just some people who refuse to do what it takes to maintain their new weight. I have to admit that she is my inspiration for eating and exercising like I should..

She also refuses to see a therapist to get the root of why she eats like she does. I am sure her pouch is probably the size of a regular stomach. She eats as much as my husband..

I feel really sorry for her but if she refuses help, there is really nothing I can do but be there when she finally comes crashing down. She is a good lady but just wasn't ready to take the steps necessary for proper weight loss. She tells me she is sorry that she ever had the.

Surgery.

In the first place..

I am not judging her. I have no idea why she wasn't able to do what she was supposed to do after.

Surgery.

I feel for her and I know she feels badly as she watches me be successful in my walk in my new life. She tells me she does..

There are just some out there who can't follow the necessary lifestyle for whatever reason. Now they are back to where they have to yoyo Medifast diet just as we used to do...

Carnie admitted to becoming an alcoholic after her.

Surgery.

I am sure Medifast food is a huge struggle for her as she pursues sobriety from substance abuse. One thing I know about recovery and sobriety is one can only tackle one thing at a time. I.

Hope.

Her Medifast food issues will fall in line as her sobriety progresses. It may very well be having the spotlight on her will be a HUGE reality check, and as a performer she will benefit from the affirmation of an audience full of admirers...

Thanks for your input, everyone...

I know the GBS is only a tool. I guess it freaks me out so much about Carnie, because I have moments where I want soooo badly to be able to eat some things I used to...

I wasn't aware of the alcohol issue..I, too wish her much success...

Hi Chimi:.

I'm scheduled for GBS and I think this topic is the one that scares me most; along with losing some of my hair - I don't have much to lose. LOL.

Who wants to go through.

Surgery.

Just to gain the weight back? Basically, it's a lifestyle change....forever...

I'm not familar with Carnie Wilson but.

Reading.

Between the lines their are a few reasons why they might have regained and perhaps even more..

It does suggest you can stretch your pouch, it's not going to be egg sized forever that stands to reason....

So GBS is a tool, we have rules which we follow or we dont..

I am just hoping the first year for me has me understanding how to eat and live healthier... Its going to be hard with so many of the wrong options so easily available, but we know that....

Its not a miracle cure... Its still up to us to make a difference and realise if we are slipping..

Without this, would we loose weight with dieting? I doubt it, would we make healthier options? I doubt it.... Time is our advantage to change..

Lets.

Hope.

We all have enough time....

Good luck. Its going to be hard somedays more than others.... Were going to cheat ocasionally and feel bad. Were going to pick ourselves up with the support from our friends..

But what other options do we have?.

Not a lot, not if you have tried....

Its up to us....

Wish you all success...

I'd be interested in know how long and inclusive Carrnie and Yellowsnows neighbors presurgery education was. In my real life support group there are several Lapbanders and RNY patients who went to Mexico and simply paid for the.

Surgery.

Without the education. And it is obvious that they just were not mentally ready for this massive lifestyle adjustment based on their lack of commitment to Medifast diet and nutrition..

When I see newbies comment on the amount of time it takes from signing onto the program and actually getting.

Surgery.

I sometimes laugh. It's the education and mental preperation that I know believe is the difference between sucess and failure. That and of course being lucky enough to have found this little dump of a site. LOL.
