Good question... I dunno what is the answer to your question. I'll do some research and get back to you if I bump into an decent answer. You should email the people at iPage as they probably can answer it..

// Define the webserver and path parameters.

// * DIR_FS_* = Filesystem directories (local/physical).

// * DIR_WS_* = Webserver directories (virtual/URL).

 define('HTTP_SERVER', 'http://www.agiftco.com');.

 define('HTTPS_SERVER', 'http://www.secure-certificate.com/~erichoes');.

 define('ENABLE_SSL', true);.

 define('HTTP_COOKIE_DOMAIN', 'www.agiftco.com');.

 define('HTTPS_COOKIE_DOMAIN', 'http://www.secure-certificate.com/~erichoes');.

 define('HTTP_COOKIE_PATH', '/');.

 define('HTTPS_COOKIE_PATH', '/');.

 define('DIR_WS_HTTP_CATALOG', '/');.

 define('DIR_WS_HTTPS_CATALOG', '/');.

This is what my host told me to use.....

Define('HTTPS_COOKIE_DOMAIN', 'www.secure-certificate.com/~erichoes');.

I tried the following and still get the error....

 define('HTTPS_SERVER', 'https://www.secure-certificate.com/~erichoes');.

 define('ENABLE_SSL', true);.

 define('HTTP_COOKIE_DOMAIN', 'www.agiftco.com');.

 define('HTTPS_COOKIE_DOMAIN', 'www.secure-certificate.com/~erichoes');..

Does your server have a special directory for secure files? Many do..

Put a plain old index.html like Hello World in your root folder and see if it can be accessed or name it something like test.html.

The url would then be.

The system should see that. Don't confuse server problems with osC problems..

Try your link, it works. So it looks like an OSC error for some reason..

LOL, I should have looked more closely at the code you first posted..

Define('HTTPS_SERVER', 'http.

S.

You're missing the s.

What do you have as.

Define('DIR_FS_CATALOG', ? .

Actually, I saw that as well and fixed it, but it still gives me the error..

Here is what I currently have for the entire folder (minus db info)..

// Define the webserver and path parameters.

// * DIR_FS_* = Filesystem directories (local/physical).

// * DIR_WS_* = Webserver directories (virtual/URL).

 define('HTTP_SERVER', 'http://agiftco.com');.

 define('HTTPS_SERVER', 'https://www.secure-certificate.com/~erichoes');.

define('ENABLE_SSL', false); // secure webserver for checkout procedure?.

 define('HTTP_COOKIE_DOMAIN', 'http://agiftco.com');.

 define('HTTPS_COOKIE_DOMAIN', 'www.secure-certificate.com');.

 define('HTTP_COOKIE_PATH', '/');.

 define('HTTPS_COOKIE_PATH', '/');.

 define('DIR_WS_HTTP_CATALOG', '/');.

 define('DIR_WS_HTTPS_CATALOG', '/');.

 define('DIR_WS_IMAGES', 'images/');.

 define('DIR_WS_ICONS', 'icons/');.

 define('DIR_WS_INCLUDES', 'includes/');.

 define('DIR_WS_BOXES', DIR_WS_INCLUDES'boxes/');.

 define('DIR_WS_FUNCTIONS', DIR_WS_INCLUDES'functions/');.

 define('DIR_WS_CLASSES', DIR_WS_INCLUDES'classes/');.

 define('DIR_WS_MODULES', DIR_WS_INCLUDES'modules/');.

 define('DIR_WS_LANGUAGES', DIR_WS_INCLUDES'languages/');.

 define('DIR_WS_DOWNLOAD_PUBLIC', 'pub/');.

 define('DIR_FS_CATALOG', '/home/erichoes/public_html/');.

 define('DIR_FS_DOWNLOAD', DIR_FS_CATALOG'download/');.

 define('DIR_FS_DOWNLOAD_PUBLIC', DIR_FS_CATALOG'pub/');.

With those settings, when I go to checkout_shipping.php, I get....

BTW, Thanks for all your help so far...

There's more than one way it will work but the current config won't. There's no ~erichoes in the cookie anywhere..

You could try.

Define('HTTPS_COOKIE_PATH', '/~erichoes/')..

Same error with...

 define('HTTPS_SERVER', 'https://www.secure-certificate.com/~erichoes');.

define('ENABLE_SSL', true); // secure webserver for checkout procedure?.

 define('HTTP_COOKIE_DOMAIN', 'http://agiftco.com');.

 define('HTTPS_COOKIE_DOMAIN', 'www.secure-certificate.com');.

 define('HTTP_COOKIE_PATH', '/');.

 define('HTTPS_COOKIE_PATH', '/~erichoes/');..

I found this through a quick search on 'open_basedir'.

What version of php is running?..

My host has me using 4.3.3.

Wouldn't that mean I wouldn't have been able to access that link we used earlier if it was a php problem?..

That's a good point. But something fundamental is wrong. I don't think tweaking the config file endlessly is going to solve the problem, it looks good..

Search for more open_basedir posts and see what you can find..

You could always get a cert, they're not expensive these days but you might need a iPage hosting upgrade to get a dedicated IP...

Thanks again for your help. I'll look into it more...

Arg! It took me basically arguing with my host for them to.

Finally.

Figure out that the issue was on the server side not my side. Then they sent me a simple "Problem fixed" email. PUNKS!.

Thank you to everyone who tried to help me fix something that wasn't broken.

My SSL now appears to work properly...

I have no idea what it means, but if it helps anyone, this is what they told me they did......

When I turn my SSL to true and use the paths given by my host, I get the following message on my checkout page.....

It appears you have an error in your configure.php file, post it here without the database info, password...
