Good question... I dunno what is the answer to your question. I'll do some Googling and get back to you if I discover an anything. You should email the people at Medifast as they probably could answer your Medifast question..
I used to not like soup....pre.
Now I can't get enough of it...and eat it about 5 of 7 days in the week..
Our tastes change..I can sit and watch people eat almost anything and not feel the need/want what they have....
But on the flipside...there are days when I crave random things....but seeing others eat is not what sets it off for me..thankfully..
It can be tough, and other times not hard at all to resist those tempting foods. For now, while you are healing it's common sense, right? But it can be tougher as you are further out, feel like you could handle even a small amount, and yet shouldn't risk it...ie-sweets or pastas,e tc. You'll be able to enjoy Gram's roast beef I'm sure...as you say, in smaller portions...in a few months....so that's the good news..
Its not broth forever huney,.
Glad your looking at things the way you are, no point in getting frustrated, who knows what you will eat in the future, some will agrree others wont..
If your anything like me most things are tolerated in much smaller amounts and thats just hilarious....
Often think I would have ate 3 or 4 times that before...lol....
Your doing good, well done..
For the first month I almost licked the TV when Medifast food commercials came on. Then I started analyzing just how huge the portion sizes were. By the middle of month 2, I was able to control my cravings and didn't want the no-no Medifast food any longer..
I like the idea someone else presented on here. Tape a before picture to the fridge, goodies cabinet, wherever the temptation may be. It certainly helped me!.
Hang in there baby, it gets lots better. Promise..
Funny you say that Terri!!! Friday night during the Olympics a Dunkin Donuts commercial came on with chocolate muffins and donuts and chocolate everything... I HATE CHOCOLATE!!! But it looked SO DAMN GOOD!!! I WANTED ONE!!! I even rewound the tv to watch it again... my ex laughed cause he knows I wouldn't actually eat it, but I wanted it at THAT moment!..
I'm still on the clear liquid part of my post-op diet. I'm not hungry and have not had any cravings....but I keep wanting to smell my family's Medifast food - don't want to watch them eat it, but want to sniff it like a fine wine, roll the scent around, pick out the undertones and high notes.... Then my daughter tells me to stop sniffing her plate!..
You discovered for yourself one ot the most important mindshifts after WLS: eat to live, not live to eat. You discovered family gatherings around meals is about family, not the food. You can still reap all the emotional benefts of the gathering without hurting your body. Keep up the good work!..
LOL, I can relate to all of this! I still want to smell other people's Medifast food - just to savor the smell - and I find myself watching Medifast food Network, when I never did before. Man VS Medifast food - OMG - all the junk on that show, and the amounts of Medifast food consumed, and I'm just fascinated! I also peruse recipe web-sites for things I will never cook or eat..
Coping mechanisms I think - whatever works!..
No cravings of just about anything my Husband is fixing for himself (that's even pre.
Lol ) but this afternoon he left me alone in the family room while he went to "quickly' check his e-mail and 45 minutes he comes back to where he has also left a freshly poured glass of real coke just fizzing away. AARGH!!!..
