Hmm... I need to find out myself. I don't know what is the answer to your question. I'll do some research in Google and get back to you if I got an decent answer. You should email the people at iPage as they probably know..
Yeah that is what I figure but is there anything that they could have changed that would cause such a performance hit? It was never extremely fast to begin with but this is just ridiculous. Also is osCommerce just as easy to install on IIS as on an Apache web server?..
Probably your host added 255 more web sites like yours on the server. I would stick with *nix/Apache, even Windows/Apache has problems see.
I'm having page-load problems as well. It seems to be getting slower as time goes by. I'm using Shared SSL and remotely connecting to the DB, so this probably causes a little lag time. But it's getting realllyyyyy ssslllowww, seemingly more and more each day..
I've contacted my web host and am awaiting their response. They seem to like to monkey around with things, because I've had to reinstall several of my apps over the past few weeks. It's my first time using cpanel, too, and I'm thinking it might also be part of the problem, as it seems to be buggy as heck. I HOPE I don't have to reinstall osC again, but I've done it four times so at least I have a little experience with that side of things..
While I'm awaiting response from my host, I thought it prudent to continue this thread in the hope that my experience can enlighten someone else. Also, if anyone has any ideas what could be causing 15+ second load times (aside from a remote db connection and the use of shared SSL), I'm all ears...
Change to a better host that doesn't overload their shared servers with too many accounts..
That would be my first suggestion...
I am having a strange problem with my iPage website taking forever to load. In admin I set to show page parse time and on my main page it takes 75+ seconds. My current webhost is moving their systems and this is where all the problems started. It’s been about a week and still no gain in speed. The strange thing is that admin is as fast as before with page parse times of 2- seconds. I thought maybe I screwed it up but I downloaded my whole iPage site and tried it on my local machine and parse times are 1- seconds.
Has anybody else had this type of problem? Current webhost stats:.
Are there any changes that should be made? Also I am thinking of switching hosts and is using a host with IIS just as easy to setup osCommerce as with Apache? Any recommended hosts in Canada?..
Its a problem with your iPage hosting company. It should be less then 1 sec. Nothing you can do in the PHP code can take away 75 sec...
