Got a question... I cant get php includes to work on iPage..? Looking forward for any comment. Another question I got... I have just installed oscommerce on a stand alone pc and am running it on windows xp professional. I also have the wiki guide and was hoping to work through the examples today. Unfortunatley I can not find the code it is talking about, in particular the php parts..

To edit the code I find the appropriate page from localhost/etc and then view source. Once I finish editing it I then save it in place of the original..

Bit confused at present hope someone can help..

Many Thanks..

Hmm... I need to find out myself. I don't know what is the right answer. I'll do some research in Google and get back to you if I find an useful answer. You should email the people at iPage as they probably could help you..

And I think he is trying to run osc from his computer without installing a webserver or php. Just a wild guess...? And that's why his php isnt showing up lol..

Just a shot in the dark, as I am as confused as cmotd..

It's not that witty,.

From what I understand there is php sections in html, was just asking a simple question. I'm sure you didn't know a lot when you first started out. Lucky for you, I imagine somone helped you and didn't just give half assed wittless replies..

Well explain more of what your talking about as it doesnt make a lot of sense..

To cmotd,.

You should learn to quote, the parts of my original posts do not contain all that is necessary to show exactly what I was saying..

First off the examples are from the wiki document - clearly labelled examples on there so what else should I call them? you seem to have a load of answers..

Thank you Dennis, a sensible reply it is appreciated..

Ok I installed PHP, MySql and Apache. I have installed an os commerce iPage site and can accsess all the pages via.

I was pointed towards a document - the wiki document - on here it gives examples to work through so that you become familiar with editing os commerce. The first example says that there is php code within the html code. It the procedes to tell you code to look for. This code is in a php section..

I can not find anything that resembles this..

I was wondering if there was a glaring error and somone could point me in the right direction...

Would you mind posting up an example of what your trying to do and what it tells you too look for? Then I can direct you from there..

In account_edit.php it tells me to find.

<tr>.

<td class="main">&nbsp;<?php echo ENTRY_CITY; ?></td>.

<td class="main">&nbsp;.

<?php.

If ($is_read_only) {.

Echo $account['entry_city'];.

} elseif ($error) {.

If ($entry_city_error) {.

Echo tep_draw_input_field('city')'&nbsp;'ENTRY_CITY_ERROR;.

} else {.

Echo $HTTP_POST_VARS['city']tep_draw_hidden_field('city');.

}.

} else {.

Echo tep_draw_input_field('city', $account['entry_city'])'&nbsp;'ENTRY_CITY_TEXT;.

}.

?> </td>.

</tr>..

You're right there !!.

As I said, I really shouldn't take the p***, but it's rare to find a question that is so utterly contradictory to reality that it's difficult to see where to start. A true gem in an otherwise pretty dull day. Thank you - if I choke on my glass of wine I have here, as least I'll die with a smile on my face (and as a result, I guess, so will you)..

Rich..

Ps - No, html does not support PHP - you need to install it..

And then the example is to change the order that city, state etc appear on the screen..

<td class="main">&nbsp;<?php echo ENTRY_CITY; ?></td>.

That displays(echo) the text "city" in that column. The "ENTRY_CITY" is defined in the language directory.

The next column shows the input field. It then checks to see if there is an error with you putting in the text after submit. Your going to have to learn html and php from tutorials online or something so you can understand the different functions..

Good Luck,.

Dennis..

Are you sure you're we're talking about the same project ? This is a serious question by the way.

Errrr.... What examples ? .

Errr.... what OTHER parts are there - it's ALL PHP !!!.

What the hell are you talking about ? .

Christ ! You're not kidding, are you ? .
