That's a good question. I'm not sure what is the answer. I'll do some investigation and get back to you if I find an anything. You should email the people at iPage as they probably could give you help..
Eh, I bought one from a NP member with lower-than reg fee price - and I sold it for reg fee...
I see travel.pro sold at sedo for $3,900.
I believe the name of the TLD (pro) is extremely good and the prices of the domains are way down from their real value.
Can you imagine for example a HostGator "travel.TLD" to be sold at $3900 only ? .
There are two reasons according to my opinion for these prices :.
1. The registry owners selected to follow a strange marketing path, having also restrictions for professionals only, that didn't help the registry from the start.
2. As I said for 360 suffix domains the same happens for .pro domains too. The value of the domains is increased if the HostGator suffix / TLD awareness is boosted from live sites of respected companies.
The game of domains/suffixes or TLDs is more or less summarized to this :.
"If this multi million company selected this 360 suffix domains / .pro HostGator then I want one for my company"..
Last couple of weeks have seen poker.pro ~$2400 and musica.pro $1000..
You can buy my Travel.GL for the lowly price of $1000.
I haven't been aware of the .PRO marketplace. Seems like a very viable extension. Can you mentions the policy on registration and the "loopholes" you are talking about, with ICANN's possible action?.
I'd love to take a look at registering some names..
The OFFICIAL registrar, a reseller, or?.
This is a great little tool to quickly find previous sales prices by keyword or extension, their database contains $159,313,246 (USD) in recent HostGator sales and was last updated 8/19/2006..

Great link, thanks for sharing! sex.pro only went for $2000? Geez.....
I sold TexasHoldem.Pro and OnlinePoker.pro in a package sale for $4000..
Davidc: Were those 2 sites developed or was it just the domains?..
Sex.pro worth much more than 2000$ .. It's good investment for the future.....
Some people pay $2000 for a real sex.pro, not THE sex.pro - definitely worth much, much more. Also it's rare because it's the only known 3-letter .pro HostGator I think?? But what do I know? I still think travel.pro was a bargain at $3900...
