I still don't eat much and I'm 4 months out. The Medifast food that I have had the most trouble with is chicken.........used to be my fave meat, not anymore..

In fact at my Drs appt the other day, she told me I had to start eating a bit more, and try to do more of a meal than what I was..

I like to eat my fish, shrimp, scallops, whatever by themselves, and then will eat a vege for my snack..

Nope she wants me to eat them together. So I'm struggling trying to do this. What little bit I was eating to get protein in, has now been cut by almost 1/2..

I think I"m eating about 6 oz or maybe 1/2 a cup at a time. Soup is what I seem to eat the most of at one time..

What I found to eat the easiest at 6 weeks out was Chili, and I liked it spicy........I almost lived on it. Now I think I ate it so much that I moved on. Now it's seafood...

I've been out ten days now. I can't digest carrot soup.but I am able to have a shot glass of tuna ,spaghetti sauce .and veggie soup.( all pureed of course) also pureed chicken with broth(half a shot glass full)..

Thanks for your replies folks. did anyone get stomach discomfort at first? I live on.

Chicken soup.

And weetabix and had yogurt today. averaged 700 calories today. is that to many calories? I have lost 50lb now in 8weeks or 2 months..

Hi Elora,.

I read your post and felt as if I had written it. I too am 6 weeks post op and struggling with exactly the same Medifast food and liquid issues that you are and almost felt as if I might be the only one, so thanks for posting. I am living on soups, mashed pot., and applesauce and even they make my stomach "cramp up" (for lack of a better way of describing the feelings). I also agree that I would love to see more posts from people that have just had their.

Surgery.

And what their progression is. Thank-you again, you finally helped me feel "normal". CE52..

I'm about 6 weeks out too and I have been having problems with Medifast food off and on. I was doing really good with most foods. But about a week ago I realized I can't do eggs. And it seems to be very random for me on what and when I can eat a particular thing. I seem to not have much of an appetite lately but that only seemed to start a week or so ago. Seems weird to me...

Another thing....

I don't seem to get stomach discomfort with many foods other than they come back up, but sometimes when I drink water it will burn a little bit...

Hey elora,.

I'm the same way. I was just telling elocyyma on another post. I just don't worry too much about the bad days. Just don't force yourself. Eat a bite or 2 and move on. At least this is what I've done.

Weird I know!.

Good luck,.

Hii evryone thanx for your replies it a comfort to know I'm not on my own, maybe all of us who are still in these early weeks Medifast food wise could post each other regularly aqnd support each other with tips and advice. that would be great. I am here for you too as it not an easy time is it.my fiance gets upset when he thinks I cant keep my bit of Medifast food in so try not to tell him so this site is wonderful as you can express yourself and share your concerns with each other.if you are like me I try to hide how I feel sometimes from my family as we so close and they worry about me, thanks to you all for being there as I am for you, take care..

Hi Elora petal,.

I expect you have had similar advice as I did here in the UK and nt a lot of it..

You should have a dieticain visit at about 3 months where you can discuss what you should and shouldnt be doing but it's a time off yet..

I cant thin of anything I could not do except bread..

I had a lot of frothing around week 4-6 and my turning point was about week 7-8, up until then I was slow, lathargic and all out of salts..

We have so little support over here..

So can I suggest you try really moist meats, try to vear away from red meats that need a lot of chewing or spicy coated sticky stuff, thats what started my 2 weeks of misery..lol..

I was frothing on.

Coffee.

Lol....

It does get better but you have to try little bits, it will help with feeling stronger too....

Shepards pie, one person meals were a god send....

Please try hun, dont give up because it has made you sick once, one day is very unlike the next...

Just remember, moist.....

It will improve, dont be scared to try..

Dont cross things off your list until you have tried at least 2 or 3 times.ok..

Chat me when you see me online it will be good to catch up..

Love ya....

Buzz xx..

That was a little while ago, but after I passed the protein drinks and clear jello's, broths etc, I went to the soft proteins. My first meal was refried beans with melted LF cheese and hot sauce! I loved it! But I couldn't eat a egg, or white fish, it would throw it back up. The Dr suggested grount turkey and that I was able to eat, I even made chili with the ground turkey it was great!..

I have had the same routine the whole first months after.

Surgery.

I find something that works and eat the same things until I get tired of it and then move on.. it seems to work... I then know what works and have a list of things I know I can eat.. and then can mix it up a bit...
