Got a question... Is this a good Medifast menu for a 1 year old birthday party? Many thanks for any response. Another quick question... Since i'm new and don't know too many details about everyone's surgeries was just curious with those that have had the RNY was it Lap or unlucky like me and had to have open with a huge incision? My incison was 13 inches long :( not fun..

The answer is Yes, but you might want to make sure and wait for someone else here to confirm it as I am unsure. Better yet, why don't you email the Medifast guys because they can help better...

I had laproscopic rny almost 6 weeks ago, thankful I didn't have to go with the open and so sorry you did. Healing has been pretty good, t is amazing how fast you do heal. Though I have been working too many hours and my stomach muscles get sore from all the twisting and turning at my desk. So far have lost around 34lbs and not having problems with any Medifast food yet. Just have to keep.

Remembering.

To drink and to eat somedays! Looking forward to your experiences and comments being you have been doing this for a while..

Had open. My surgeon started out laparoscopic, but because of scar tissue from previous surgeries he couldn't complete it laparoscopically and had to open. My incision is about 8 inches long so you got me beat there. Welcome to DS you'll enjoy everyone here they are the best!!!!..

Thanks for sharing. I wish I had been able to have it lap. Mom2Robbie I am 3 yrs post op and after the initial complications I recovered quite well :) Ty for asking. Dbergie congrats on the 34 lbs. I know when you don't feel hungry it's hard to remember to eat and drink so set your watch if you can to help you remember. Keep up the good work.

Goodluck to all of you. If you have any questions feel free to ask :).

I'm 8 weeks out and had an open RNY and you beat me by a couple of inches. Although until your post I had never measured my scar it is 11 inches and not a pretty sight. I also had complications and ended up in the hospital for 22 days and it's nice to hear about other people's stories on here that were so smooth and uncomplicated. Thanks for sharing. Carolyn..

I had laproscopic. I have 7 incisions.......1 was because the site they do most of the work through, they couldn't get it to stop bleeding, so they stitched it up and made another site close to that one..

With all those stitches so close together, I had a pucker spot, it sank right in. Yuck..

Sorry you had to have open. A friend of mine had open and had so many complications. She ended up getting 2 hernias that needed.

Surgery.

, then her incision opened, and she had to let it heal that way, by packing it. I couldn't have done that, weak stomach here...

I had laproscopically....I have 5 small insicions, one in my belly button...and two a little higher on either side....

I was out of the hospital the second day...and a year later the scars are very faded..

Gall bladder had to come out almost a year after bypass...it too was Lap...but only 4 scars for that one....

I've been lucky.....

I REFUSED to have an open procedure unless the consults I had could convince me otherwise. I had to be able to function well and take care of myself ASAP afer.

Surgery.

It was worth holding out for the right surgeon. I was fortunate to not have any prior abdominal issues or surgeries, so I was a good candidate...

Shelia,.

I will be 3 yrs out March 22nd. After some complications in the beginning I have healed and lost 170 lbs. Best thing I have ever done. Regardless of my complications I would do it again in a heartbeat..
