I'm stumped. I'm not so sure what is the right answer to your question. I'll do some Googling and get back to you if I discover an useful answer. You should email the people at Medifast as they probably can answer it..
I have the same problem...I am 3 weeks out. I don't dump, haven't done that yet...thank God. But I get the worst cramps. It is just easier if I drink something and then in an hour or so try something smooth like cottage cheese. Hopefully the further out we get the easier everything will get. :)..
I agree with liquids first. I have a big cup of hot tea and a bottle of water with my meds and vitamins first (one of my meds has to be taken on an empty stomach), and then eat. Otherwise I am uncomfortable...
No big to have a protien shake for breakfast. Been doing it for 9 months now. I think it is a great way to start the day b/c I always feel dehydrated when I get up and it kills 2 birds with one stone...
As far as protein shakes, try different types to give yourself variety. The Syntrax Nectar brand is delicious. My favorite is fuzzy navel. You mix the powder with orange flavored WalMart brand (Great Value) drink and it's delicious!!! I haven't tried their other flavors but have been told they are good too. You have to buy them online...the only drawback. But they are well worth it.
How about oatmeal with protein powder? Someone mentioned cottage cheese..
Don't limit yourself to "breakfast" foods in the morning. Have some left over steak or chicken. How about tuna salad? refried beans with melted cheese and a dollop of yogurt or sour cream..
Your body doesn't care about what meal your eating, it just wants some protein!..
I, too, drink a fuzzy navel protein shake every morning like newme. I have tried the Syntrax Nectar lemonade and strawberry-kiwi but I don't like them so I'll just stick to the fuzzy navel from now on...
I never could do the shakes. I'm really picky about the way things taste. I drank the slimfast low carb/high protein drink. I put it in a blender with ice and added sugar free flavored syrup to it and tasted great. Once I was eating though I've always just eaten a protein bar. Thats still all I eat for breakfast.
I eat the Pure Protein bars. They also have shakes and powders but have never tried those. Mornings I just don't have time so want something I can eat while i'm getting kids off to.
When i'm out though I'll have a bowl of cheerios or some oatmeal. Sundays the only time I have a cooked breakfast. Usually eggs and turkey bacon - sometimes just the bacon...
