I had to take predisone for my lungs for years and after my bypass I couldnt take the pill form. what my doctor did do is give it to me in liquid form and it worked just as well.( will warn you it tastes nasty LOL ) I also am on daily pain meds (.

Percocet.

) and I know that my surgeon did not want it due to ulcers but I cannot go without because of the pain. the only issue with the predison was that I could use it for short ( two months at a time) time and use it with my.

Prevacid.

To protect my stomach. I am almost 3 years out from.

Surgery.

And so far no issues with my pouch/stomach...

Hi.

Yes, I am in pain everyday and it affects my life....there is a lot I can't do. I was under the impression that the liquid was just as hard on the pouch. I will ask my surgeon about it though. The Social Worker said he wouldn't even operate on you if you were on it. I do take Arthritis Strength.

Tylenol.

Instead of.

Motrin.

And it helps a little. If I have a flare though my pain level goes up to a 7 or 8 and being in that kind of pain everyday is pretty hard to take..

Thanks guys!.

Donna,.

You may be already fully aware of this, but with respect to Arthritis Strength.

Tylenol.

, note that the active ingredient is.

Acetaminophen.

(also known as paracetemol in many locations outside the U.S.).

The primary danger of.

Acetaminophen.

Is that too much or sustained long-term use of high dosages can lead to liver damage. Currently, the maximum recommended dose is no more than 4 grams per day. This equals 4000mg. Arthritis Strength.

Tylenol.

Is 650mg per capsule - thus no more than 6 capsules in a 24 hour period..

Acetaminophen.

Is especially dangerous when used in combination with alcohol..

Perhaps even more important from the perspective of someone with chronic pain, is that many professionals suggest that this maximum dose should not be sustained over a long period of time. Many professional are currently recommending that for sustained use, people should limit the maximum 24 hour dose to 2 grams (2,000mg or 3 capsules of Arthritis Strength.

Tylenol.

)..

Some professionals recommend that people taking.

Acetaminophen.

Long term should, at a minimum, have their liver function checked regularly - perhaps every 3 months..

This is important for GBS patients in particular because.

Acetaminophen.

Is one of the few over the counter analgesics available to us post.

Surgery.

Have you worked with a reputable Pain Management Specialist in your area?.

Since I can't take.

Motrin.

My doc put me on.

Ultram.

For my knee pain. You might ask about that...

Ask your rheumetologist. They are the experts on meds in their field. You are not the first person with an RA spectrum illness who has med issues, and your doc can help you find the delivery method which is right for you...
