Good question... I dunno what is the right answer. I'll do some investigation and get back to you if I find an answer. You should email the people at Medifast as they probably could give you an answer..
I'm 4 days post op from.
Gastric bypass surgery.
Having a lot of pain and diarrhea. I'm drinking my 3 protein shakes and my 3 cups of non-caloric drinks. I need to get outside and walk, but the diarrhea has me concerned to go too far. I.
You get to feeling better. I'm feeling better today so far. Good luck with your program..
Awww Patti huney Im sorry you feel so poorly..
I never experience the gas or much pain so I do sympathise....
It will get better then the only gas your be trouble with will be from your butt....
Rest and and get better real soon...
I will be 2 weeks out tomorrow and yes I had very similar pain. I asked my doc and along with the gas that just has to work it's way out, he told me the way they have to position you on the table by proping something under your back will make it hurt for awhile as well. I was awake when they first put this thing under me and it was very hard and very uncomfortable, I didn't realize they left it for the full.
But it hurt like heck for a about a week..
I really started seeing a turn to feeling good at about 8 to 9 days out and absolutely walk and sip as much as you can even if you are just in the house, it really helps with the gas and loosens up your muscles too..
Hand in :).
Patti I'm also in pain, mine is from gas and muscle that was cut into during.
Its actually pain from lifting myself up and down. I am doing a little better today with my pain meds in full swing. I still cant drink 3 shakes and I am trying to get through jello (with protein powder added) right now. We can get through this! Liz..
Sorry Paati that you are still feeling so poorly, but like others have said just walk, walk, walk, and sip, sip, sip. Pretty soon you'll forget all about this and be feeling wonderful again, promise. We're here for ya whenever you need us...
Patti I'm sorry you are in so much pain! I too just had my.
On the 11th. Each day gets better. Just keep moving around. it's hard, I know, because it hurts to move, but that's what will make you feel better. It's hard getting the fluids in, too, but keep trying. This will all be a distant memory for all of us soon!!!! Take care!..
