First question I got is Start Medifast menu wont show when using Google Chrome? Looking forward for any answer or 2. 2nd question I got is.. I am 7 month post op...down 102 pounds and have had a pretty good run. I hit a wall last week when my already really thin hair started coming out in handfulls. I search the web and found a blog that suggested Silica Complex. I'm wondering if anyone has tried this for their hair loss?..

I haven't tried the silica complex. But what did work well for me is taking 5,000 mcg of biotin daily. Biotin is for skin/hair/nail support. I also take 200 mcg of selenium, is an antioxidant that helps to prevent breakage and fallout. I also upped my B vitamins by taking a b-complex..

My hair loss peaked at about 5 months post, and started growing back at about 7 months or so. I'm 11 months post op now, and have all these one inch long hairs all over the top of my head. I started the vitamins at 5 months and noticed a good improvement as far as less fallout a few weeks after taking them. I also used the Nutriox Hair system for thinning hair. I bought it from Sally's beauty supply and I think it has helped too..

Hope.

That helps!!..

Hehe someone who is paddling in the same boat as me! I have pics up of my hair loss too, was embarassing, but a war trophy..

I took Callie's advice and got some Biotin 5,000mcg.

There is also Silica caps you can get, about 224mg os Silica, 133ui of Vit D and 266mg of.

Calcium.

Runs about 16.00 bucks a bottle but 90 caps. There is also a liquid of the same thing, that absorbs faster since you dont have to break a capsule down. about 15.00 bucks and is citrus. just a few tsps in a drink and your good to go..

The other thing I use, that may be worth the investment is the Nioxin shampoo, conditioner, and scalp treatment. After a few weeks I had little prickily hairs growing back in..

^_^ row! row! row!..

Hey Girl, Congratulations on your journey..

Went thru the same process. Was recomended Biotin 5000 mg which I still take to this date. I am 3 years out and lost a total of 137 lbs..

Also, when that started to happen, I had my hair cut short and kept going every 3 weeks to get it thrimmed. That helped a lot since now I have a lot of hair!!!!!.

Also, Biotin is great for your skin and nails and it's going to help you get your skin in better condition since it tends to change quite a bit too..

Don't forget your B12 complex..

Hi there I take silica complex one a day and I have had no hair loss at all as of yet, but I'm only 8weeks post op x..

Thanks to you all! I'm already on B - Complex everyday so I am going to add some Biotin and take a field trip to Sally's for shampoo and conditioner. I am a firm believer in hair weave, so as long as there is hair for sale and mine is falling out...I'm buying it!..

My hair was already thinning in the top middle BEFORE.

Surgery.

, so I started taking Biotin and I also am trying the women's form of minozidil. I think mine is from some hormonal imbalance that I need to look into. I a going to look into the Silica Complexhopefully can't hurtbut girl I agree with youas long as their are weaves, wigs, hairpieces, I will be fine!! Thanks for the info! Debbie..
