Is a great resource for researching all things WLS. I will also offer that if you have the kind of health issues which make weight loss an absolute must, insurance companies can sometimes be made to pay. There is a group called The Obesity Law and Advocacy Center who can advise you on your legal rights. They have successfully helped many people in the WLS program where I recieve my support and follow-up care. One last suggestion is that if you have a 401k or other vested retirement account, a loan from there will have the best payback terms of any loan out there and will not harm your long-term financial goals. Good luck, and keep plugging away until you find what you need...

I too was turned down by insurance. I actually had everything ready to go with a company called.

They are very helpful..

What they do is search several "medical loan" companies for financing. They do charge a small fee but they were able to fincance my full amount. It did have to be financed through 3 different companies but hey, atleast the full amount was covered. I actually ended up just getting a loan from my bank for the full amount with my Dad's help..

This helps and good luck!..

I had great coverage for my.

Gastric bypass surgery.

Through my insurance company. Blue Cross Blue Sheild of California. I live in Washington state, but my husbands employer is headquartered in California, so thats why we have this insurance. They covered me 90%, and they had no other preop requirements for me other than BMI and doctors recommendation. Sorry, I don't have any info on finanacing options, most docs I know want their money up front if you are self paying. Wish you the best!!!..

Is deemed to be medically necessary than your insurance can be made to pay...they all give us a hard time...but if you have medical problems like diabetes, high blood pressure or even high cholesterol that should deem it medically necessary...I never heard of the suggestions you got....
