Got a quick question: What is the tastiest thing on the Medifast menu at MAURICE DEL TACO? Many thanks for any answer. Another question... Hi Guys,.

Its been a while since I've been on. To refresh - I had my.

Surgery.

01/20/10... I'm down 19 lbs... the last week and a half have not been good at all... Last week I went 3 to 4 days without really being able to eat and most importantly drink... I was sooooooo nauseous, dehydrated, vomitting (when I did eat) and just plain weak.... I ended up calling my surgeons office on Monday and they said you need to come into the ER and they can get you hydrated and the surgeon will be by to see you...

I ended up staying for 3 days... on the 3rd day I basically begged to go home, even though I still was not feeling up to speed, but the weathermen were predicting a blizzard and I didnt want to be stuck in the hosptial when it hit and then try to get home... Soooo stupidly I said I was good to go :( (of course the weathermen were wayyyyyyyyyyyyy off ... the 15+ ended up being 4 inches....) after being home a couple days it is literally such a chore to eat, but mostly drink.... Does anyone else get the feeling when ur.

Drinking water.

That it is falling into a bottomless pit?? It just feels horrible... If anyone knows how to remedy that feeling I would be greatly appreciative.... Maybe eat a cracker first to cushion the water? I have no idea, but it's driving me nuts.... :( Ive also come to the conclusion that I am more than likely lactose intolerant.... NO FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have been double over with cramps while sitting on the toilet with the trash can in my hand - not sure which way it's coming out.... sweating and shaking....

So it's been soooo difficult to get in the liquids... the proteins too have been a nightmare....

PLEASE ANYONE TELL ME THAT THIS IS JUST A PHASE AND IT WILL GET BETTER :( PLEASE!!! ANYONE.... Thanks in advance :)..

That's a good question. I'm not sure what is the answer to your question. I'll do some investigation and get back to you if I bump into an anything. You should email the people at Medifast as they probably could give you help..

Yes, warm fluids are alot easier on the pouch first thing in the morning..

Bariatriceating.com.

Has alot of warm protien beverage options. You might try a daily chewable acidopholus probiotic to combat the lactose intolerance...

Forgot to add some of the symtoms you are describing go along with dehydration as well as dumping. If you are one of those who was told cereals and mashed potatoes are ok in the early going, try eliminating them from your diet. The white carbs in them can be murder on an already sensitive digestive system...

Lois is right.. take tiny sips of water.. it really helps. It wasnt until I was about 2 months out that it sorta felt normal again. With the amount of liquids we take in the first month or so.. it's liquid in liquid out most of the time..

I suggest you get some sugar free popsicles and suck on those.. they were a life saver for me the first few weeks.. that and jello.....

Also..Lipton cup-a-soup.. Tomato.. feels good on the pouch as well at that stage....

So sorry your having a tough time..

I agree with the sugar free popsicles and the tomato soup.....they were my lifesavers in the first 1 1/2 months..

Sip your liquid, and I would try room temperature.........maybe some nice decaf tea..

I.

Hope.

You get to feeling better soon...

MsCC, I'm about 7 weeks out and although I've not had the symptoms you have I do know that I was really worried about the protein and fluid that first month. I know for me and most of the old pros on here they were not able to get all their protein and fluids in at first either. Try only concentrating on the fluids for a while. Warm/small sips and get as much as you can in. Then worry later about the protein. Once you get the fluids started, the eating will get better.

It comes with time!.

Good luck,.

Krissy..

:) Happy Valentine's day everyone....
