Got a question... When you request a special Medifast menu item, what do you ask for? Looking forward for any comment. Second question of mine... I've been.

To the Cosmed clinic in Mexico...this the the doctor and place that both Cheri Cowans and Shelly (Eggface) went to..

I've had my consult via telephone..and sent pictures..(that poor doctor's

I have spoken to the after care lady/facility, and looked into flights..

I've got a tentative date for May 20th, which means I have to get my bloodwork done middle of April and sent doctor here has already given me the requisition that is not an issue. He has also prescribed me pain meds and antibiotics for post.

Use. (easier to get here then once i"m there).

Here is my dilemma....This week I have to give a deposit of half the cost...which I can do....(just do...due to an insane hydro bill..arrgh teenagers,...LOL).

Ok back to the dilemma..

I"m scared as heck. When I went to my pcp...he said he would do what I asked...but is against it...I've been hoping to catch Cheri and just get reassured, ask her about her experience there. but no such luck..

If I can get a doctor in Canada to give me the referral..then OHIP here will pay a portion (small but any help is good) and my work benefits will pay a portion of my aftercare...(again...any help is good help) I'm planning on going to see my surgeon to see if he'll write the referral...but regardless of that...I'll be able to squeeze it within my budget barring anymore unexpected expenses between now and May....

SOoo now that I have rambled away....

Anybody else have any experience with Mexico?.

Any thoughts?.

If i'm going to do this..i need to make the deposit soon and commit!.

- fyi- plastic= lower body lift, breast lift with augmentation.....

I'm stumped. I'm not so sure what is the right answer to your question. I'll do some investigation and get back to you if I got an answer. You should email the people at Medifast as they probably could give you help..

Oh man Karla, I would be scared to death too. You are very brave to work so hard to have this.

You sound committed to me, I think you are just having last minute jitters and looking for an excuse to opt out..

You are a strong woman. If you want this, go for it. I know you'd love to talk to Cheri about it, but you've read her posts, seen her pics, and know about her experience. And her experience may not even be similar to yours..

You work so hard, and give so much in your family-girl, you deserve this. You have succeeded completely in this GBS journey, and are young and pretty. I personally think you deserve a do-over with that excess skin-it will make you feel fabulous about yourself..

No matter what, we are here for you..

Hi Karla,.

I am going to put my 2 cents in. As long as this clinic has a good reputation. It should be alright. Ask about the Docs credentials and most important his certificate in plastics. I am a nurse and just want you to be extra careful. You have done such a good job, just want you continue down this good path..

Hoping to make it to the bank today and make the deposit....

I know you are right in the middle of the plans, but there is a great plastics guy here in the Seattle area. His name is Dr. Dry. A member of my support group had pretty much what you had for 9000 US. Don't know it that is competitive for your.

Or if the costs have gone up since then, but he is considered one of the best in the US for post-GBS plastics. Just my .02. No matter what you decide, I will be interested in hearing about your experience. I will be having my apron removed sometime in the next year and am most concerned about recovery time...

I don't really have much experience with what you are going through at the moment, but I'm wondering exactly why your pcp is against it? If it's just because it "sounds" shady to go to mexico, then I wouldn't worry about it. I know a lot of people who have gone there to have their WLS and plastics and as long as you are confident in your surgeon and he's qualified with a good reputation, you should be fine. And yes, you deserve it. Just make sure to take it easy on yourself afterwards and have a plan if you need emergency care when you get back...
