First off, Where can I get a good free DVD Medifast menu maker program? Thanks for any comment. Second question of mine.....but you don't hear much about that. Ten years out and many are back where they started, have had 2nd.

Surgery.

, or BOTH. My psychologist preaches it! He feels people are uninformed about long term outcomes and are only focused on the first 2 years. Like everything else, those who take in less calories, and expend more calories, ".

Eat Less.

, Move More" are the ones who are, in the end, successful." IT IS ONLY A TOOL!" How often have you heard that? But, have you really heard it? I hadn't, until my psych repeated it 5 times, in group! "After 5 years, weight gain is directly correlated to low calories and high.

Exercise.

." OTOH, "WLS failure is directly correlated to an increase in energy consumption and a correspondent decrease in energy expended!" What goes around comes around! I plan to be one of those ppl who really agree to stop eating too much and commit to lifelong daily activity! Otherwise, WLS can make things worse. I DON'T need that!..

Discussion.

Does bring up some interesting points. Everyone needs to remember this is a tool to use not a "cure all" and one I plan on following for the rest of my life. I have found it interesting when people ask when they can eat pasta, potatoes, rice, and bread again. Those are the foods (at least to me) that got me into trouble in the first place. It maybe sad to give up those foods but I like to look toward the long road ahead and how much better I will feel just eating protein and fruit/vegtables for carbs..

Learning.

To eat to live and not living to eat is definately a change that you have to make to be successful in the long run. That also includes doing daily activities to help get rid of the excess energy we have...

Especially good response Dbergie. I really needed to hear that right now as I realized that this past week I've had too many carbs (whole grain healthy or not) and not enough veggies. This is my first awareness of the change and it made a few ounces change in my wt. but enough for me to realize that I don't want to go down this road!!!! Thanks for the reminder!!!!.

We must remember that this GBS is a tool!! My nutritionist told me that most people that we see in life who have the weight under control that we assume as blessed by nature, really are people who are constantly watching their weight and doing some sort of.

Such good reminders! At 7 months out, I find I can eat waaaay more (both amount and types of food) than I want to or should. I will have a taste of something occasionally but always push it away and remind myself that "Bread is NOT my friend!" I love it, and it hates me back - that's for sure. That simple phrase in my head keeps me on track..

Pasta is NOT my friend! Sugar is NOT my friend! They helped give me my old body and I DO NOT want it back!!..
