I'm getting this message when I start up oscommerce, how do I fix this problem?.

Warning: I am able to write to the configuration file: /www/o/s/oshasafetymanual.com/htdocs/osCommerce/catalog/includes/configure.php. This is a potential security risk - please set the right user permissions on this file..

Good question... I dunno what is the answer to your question. I'll do some research and get back to you if I find an decent answer. You should email the people at iPage as they probably could help you..

You should ask your iPage hosting provider how to set the permission (644 is ok) and make it stick..

Sorry, I wrote it up incorrectly at first, at least I thought, sorry!.

If your files are reverting to 644 this would indicate that the host provider does not allow chmod to 444 for security reasons..

No this does not mean that 444 is unsecure just that your host provider does not allow users to chmod 444 which is a read only state..

Sometimes where this is the case they also do not allow to chmod 777 all rights to all things..

Both cases require contact with the host provider to get the permissions set for you...

Hi Rob!.

I tired changing the permission from 644 to 444, I saved it and still it defaults back to 644, who do I get support for this problem!?.

Please?!.
