That's a good question. I'm not sure what is the answer to that question. I'll do some research and get back to you if I bump into an answer. You should email the people at iPage as they probably could give you an answer..

No aa as far as I know but ai is anguilla and as is american samoa..

Especially for alcoholics..

.AA is not really appropriate. 2-digit extensions have been used for country codes. - ccTLDs. So .EU is really a country code in the sense that it is administered by the european union, just as .AI is administered by... what is that country anyway? ICANN has not much control over ccTLDs..

.ASIA is clearly a gTLD (global TLD) that would be regulated by ICANN, not some government somewhere. And that is probably good so countries don't argue about it, and bad in that we could see ICANN craziness like arbitrary pricing...

Asia people will prefer .AA not .Asia. IMO.

No many asia countries good at English, so .Asia cann't like .EU..

Chinese will use their .CN/

Japanese will use their .jp/

India will use

All better than .Asia, why change?..

.Asia is better than .ai/.aa/.as because it speak for itself..

We have to admitted that one who could surf the internet required some basic of english, and asia is very common word, one who know english should know what is asia spell and it meaning..

I'm not sure how many asia specific business out there, not count for travel business and I don't feel .asia make sense for idn too..

I agreed that Asia doesn't like .EU, Asia still don't have any strong business/political agreement like EU. I believed it would take very long time before something like that happened, maybe in 100 years? Which I think traffic type-in would obsoleted in that time...

.asia is a STLD , not GTLD or CCTLD.

.eu is a CCTLD , not STLD or GTLD.

.eu registers for the citizen in ONE state but .asia registers for people in some countries!.

If some Asian countries combine to a state like European Union, e.g. Asia Federation ,I think it's HostGator suffix must be two characters!.

And .asia can be registered for people in ASIA Countries only like .cat...
